Can I buy a ticket at the stadium or other outlets?
No. All match tickets can and must only be purchased via the official Ticketmaster ticketing site - https://www.rwcsevens.com/tickets
I have purchased my tickets through another platform, other than Ticketmaster, are my tickets valid?
No. We wish to advise all fans that the only authorised seller of the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 is our official ticketing agent, Ticketmaster.
When can I print or collect my ticket?
All tickets will be digital – via registering a Ticketmaster account. Buyers can then access their tickets via “My Account” on www.ticketmaster.co.za or by downloading the Ticketmaster App.
When will tickets be available?
Tickets will only be available 30 days before the event, only through the Ticketmaster App.
Will I need an ID to get into the venue because of the Covid restrictions?
Yes. Ticketholders are to provide photo ID that matches the name on the ticket at the event.
But I am buying for a friend/relative as well – how do they get in?
It’s easy. All purchasers are required to transfer additional tickets to their friends/family attending by using the Ticket Transfer option from their Ticketmaster account.
Ticket Transfer does however not apply to a family unit where attendees are underage, in which case the tickets do not have to be transferred.
So how does this Ticket Transfer work?
Ticket Transfer lets you send tickets to friends before the event, straight from your Ticketmaster account to theirs. No more driving around town handing out tickets or waiting outside the venue for the friend who’s always late! It’s convenient, simple, and free and can be done on your desktop or mobile. Will I be refunded if the event is cancelled or played behind closed doors?
Yes, if the event does not take place or is played behind closed doors all purchasers will be refunded the full purchase price of the tickets
Why are tickets more expensive than the HSBC Cape Town Sevens tickets?
More teams (40 compared to 28); more matches; more significance and the chance to attend the first Rugby World Cup in South Africa for 27 years make this a premium must-attend event which naturally attracts premium prices.
What safety precautions will be in place, given the Covid-19 situation?
Health and safety of all attendees is always the priority, and we will ensure that the prevailing requirements of the South African government at the time of the event will be fully enforced.
I’m coming from overseas but worried about COVID-19, is it safe to visit South Africa?
Yes. Obviously, the pandemic is a fluid situation but currently in South Africa life is returning to pre-COVID levels of normality with exception that face masks are required to be worn in public.
I am worried about vaccination and have not received a jab. Will I be allowed to attend?
Currently the requirement is that anyone who wishes to attend will have to be vaccinated. If government revises its advice that requirement may be dropped.
How come people already say they have purchased tickets and the ticket sales haven’t opened in South Africa?
They have been defrauded by an online scammer. The only official source for ticket purchases is Ticketmaster - https://www.ticketmaster.co.za/feature/RWCSevens2022
Purchasing from any other source provides no guarantee of gaining entry.
I have a travel company, what can I do to get tickets?
Details of event hospitality, as well as Tour and Travel packages, will be announced in due course.
