PPA Business School becomes Official Supporter of Rugby World Cup France 2023

PPA Business School, a leading post-baccalaureate business and management school through apprenticeship in France, is teaming up with Rugby World Cup France 2023 by becoming an Official Supporter. The school supports France 2023 in its commitment towards education.

From 8 September to 28 October, 2023, France will host the 10th men's Rugby World Cup in history. After the success of the 2007 edition, France 2023 aims to have a positive impact and set new standards in social responsibility, inclusion and sustainability, around a sport that was born in a school in 1823.

PPA Business School, which trains in the field of event management, particularly within sports, shares that same ambition. The school is therefore committing to rugby’s showcase event by becoming an Official Supporter of Rugby World Cup France 2023.

For PPA Business School, supporting France 2023 translates into concrete educational programmes such as its involvement as the main training partner of Campus 2023, the apprenticeship programme designed to train France’s future sporting event experts. This programme includes the training of 90 assistant site managers who will be fully involved in the Rugby World Cup delivery across the nine host cities.

With PPA Business School being an Official Supporter, its students will have a unique opportunity to be part of a major international sporting event, and hear from a wide range of experts working on the France 2023 project. They will develop new professional skills working on the activation strategy and creating content.

The nine PPA Business School campuses in France – Paris, Lille, Lyon, Reims, Grenoble, Aix-en-Provence, Nantes, Toulouse and Toulon – will support and engage with Rugby World Cup 2023, one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world.

Erwan Poiraud, PPA Business School Director, said: “Rugby is a unifying team sport, based on values of solidarity, respect and passion. Rugby World Cup 2023, which will be held in France, is the culmination of this spirit. PPA Business School shares these values and has decided to become an Official Supporter of this global event.”

Claude Atcher, France 2023 CEO, said: “With Rugby World Cup 2023, we want to reconnect with the origins of our sport and return to where it all began: in a school in 1823. To go even further after our collaboration on the Campus 2023 programme, we are proud to be associated with PPA Business School and its students to put the next generation at the heart of the France 2023 project.”

ABOUT RUGBY WORLD CUP FRANCE 2023:

Rugby World Cup 2023 will take place in France from 8 September-28 October with matches played in nine venues across 10 host cities. The tournament will be the 10th men’s Rugby World Cup and the second to be hosted by France after a memorable event in 2007.

RWC 2023 will take place in a year when the sport celebrates 200 years since Rugby School pupil William Webb Ellis was credited with inventing the game of rugby football by showing “a fine disregard for the rules” in catching the ball and running with it in 1823.

RWC 2023 will set new standards in social responsibility, inclusion and sustainability for a major rugby event, targeting four key pillars for the tournament’s legacy: acting for sustainability and circular economy, supporting education, training and employment, respecting and protecting the environment and promoting inclusivity by being a champion for gender equality.

The showpiece event in men’s 15s, Rugby World Cup 2023 will feature 20 teams – 12 of whom qualified directly by finishing in the top three in their pool at Japan 2019 and eight from a global qualification process – with 48 matches played across 51 days.

ABOUT PPA BUSINESS SCHOOL:

With more than 3,200 students, PPA Business School is the leading post-baccalaureate business and management school through apprenticeship. The school's approach to teaching is to train students to the highest level through initial education or apprenticeship. Offering a free entrance exam and training in line with the needs of the 3,500 partner companies is essential for the school to promote access to higher education for as many people as possible.

The school offers nine professionally-oriented programmes, all of which lead to a state-recognised qualification at level six (Bachelors) or level seven (Masters): Marketing ; Communication ; Digital ; Sports Business ; Purchasing and Supply Chain ; International Business ; Commercial Management and Business Engineering ; Consulting, Audit and Management Control ; Finance ; Asset and Real Estate Management ; Human Resources. PPA Business School also offers a state-approved higher diploma in marketing and communication. The school is part of the Réseau GES (Grandes Ecoles Spécialisées) network and is continuing its deployment in France with new campuses since 2020 in Lyon, Lille, Reims, Grenoble, Aix-en-Provence, Nantes and Toulouse.
