Preparation
- It is necessary to bring the devices on a plane, airline rules prohibit the tablets from being put in the hold, the case must be taken on as carry-on luggage.
- The night before the match, or a number of hours prior to the match, the devices should be plugged in to ensure that they are fully charged.
On-site setup instructions
- Make sure that the router (3) is plugged into (5) the extension cable
- Plug the extension cable (7) into the pitch-side power source
- Where a wired internet connection is available plug this into the ethernet port on the back of the router (3).
- Wait 10 minutes for the router (3) to initiate and the tablets to connect.
- Remove one tablet (1) and turn it on, then check that:
- The replacement app immediately launches
- The battery is full or at least over 90%
- The device is connected to the Wi-Fi (the symbol below should be showing in the top right hand corner)
- If the battery is not full make sure that the USB hub (2) is plugged into the extension cable (7) and plug the tablet back in with the USB cables.
- Check the other devices (1) to ensure the battery is full and they are connected to the Wi-Fi.
- If the Wi-Fi is not connecting on any of the devices
- Put the device to sleep (button along top edge of the device) and click the home screen

Distribution of devices
- Distribute devices (1) to the required people – Home Team; Away Team; Side-line officials and Broadcast Floor manager. If there are additional devices these can be distributed (to non-team personnel) and read only codes provided.
Pre-match checks
- Ask the team managers to check that:
- they can login using the pin circulated to them pre match
- the lineups are correct
- the front row designations are correct
- any under 19 players are correctly identified.
- If any of these are incorrect or last-minute changes are being made to the lineups then the Number 6 can long press on the player(s) to be amended. This will open up a window where the player information can be changed.
- If the app does not open up immediately when waking the device:
- If asked for a login code insert 188616
- Open the app (if not already open)
- Triple click the home button to turn on Guided Access, this will stop the device going to sleep and keep the app open on awakening the app.
For any other issues please contact Marc or Ronan at the numbers above.
