World Rugby Regulation 22 is the regulatory framework relating to artificial surfacing for the Game of Rugby binding on all Unions and Associations. Test Institutes that meet the criteria set out by World Rugby and pass an annual testing regime are eligible to perform tests in accordance with World Rugby Regulation 22. Accredited Test Institutes are independent organisations who act as world Rugby's eyes and ears on the ground and each technician undergoes a thorough education and assessment process before they can become accredited to test.
