TOKYO, 27 Oct - Saracens scrum-half Ben Spencer is flying to Japan as replacement for Willi Heinz, who injured his hamstring in the semi-final win over New Zealand.
Spencer, pictured, is expected to arrive in Tokyo on Monday and start on the bench in Saturday’s Rugby World Cup final having missed out on selection when head coach Eddie Jones picked his 31-man squad.
The 27-year-old helped Saracens win the English Premiership and European Cup double this year and has won three England caps.
He took part in one of England’s RWC training camps in Italy.
The England camp said Heinz, 32, would remain with the squad.
