SAMOA 35-5 IRELAND
Rupena Levasa (SAM)
On scoring a hat-trick of tries:
"I feel very proud of what I have done today, especially my three tries."
On the difference between the sides:
"They have a good attacking team especially in the rucks and mauls but they turn over the ball."
On the chances of Samoa winning the tournament:
"We try our best, the Samoan boys, to tell the world we are world champions."
Captain Kieron Campbell (IRE)
On the team's tough start to the tournament:
"We worked pretty hard there, we put a pretty good effort in, but were a bit naive a few times and let away a few soft scores. But credit to the lads - they put a great effort in and worked very hard for the full 14 minutes."
On the Irish defence:
"I don't think people are culpable for one-on-one tackles. I just think it is about getting our structure quickly and against good a side we didn't get our structure in quickly enough."
On playing in the heat:
"Grand, yeah. We have worked hard this week and I don't think fitness is an issue, as you've just seen. There is just a few structure things we need to work on before tomorrow."
On being at the RWC Sevens:
"It's massive for a lot of us guys here. We are not just here for experience. We have had little time to prepare but we are just trying to give it as much as we can whilst we are here."
AUSTRALIA 24-12 PORTUGAL
Coach Michael O'Connor (AUS)
On his team's start:
"(We are) pleased with the win. We had eight or nine penalties given against us. So considering that I thought it was quite good."
On whether he was surprised by Portugal:
"Not at all. No, they are a good team. We saw them play in Dubai and George and they got to the quarter finals in George so we knew they were a good team and showed them a lot of respect."
Richard Kingi (AUS)
On Portugal's performance:
"We always knew every team would not a pushover, so we knew they would come out firing, just as we would."
Captain Diogo Mateus (POR)
On the defeat:
"Of course we are not very happy about the result. But we knew we had a tough group, where any team can beat any team. It was the first game and it was a good game for Australia. But tomorrow is another day and we hope to come here and do even better."
