Australia Sevens coach Michael O’Connor has made two changes to his team for the fourth leg of the IRB Sevens World Series, the USA Sevens in San Diego on 14-15 February.
O’Connor has called up 21-year-old Stanley Hokafonu and Brumbies academy player Afusipa Taumoepeau to the Aussie side.
Hokafonu, a talented winger, is not a new face to the team. He played the first two tournaments of this season in Dubai and George late last year but sat out the Wellington leg at the weekend.
Taumoepeau, 18, a member of the 2007 Australian Schoolboys side, will make his World Series season debut this weekend.
Winger Ed Jenkins and forward Henry Vanderglas will not compete in San Diego.
Jenkins is recovering from a hamstring injury which he sustained in Wellington and Vanderglas, who made his first Australian Sevens appearance in Wellington, was not selected for this tournament.
Luke Morahan is currently the joint-top try scorer in the Series with 14 from the first three events, while Richard Kingi is the second-top point scorer behind New Zealand's Tomasi Cama.
The Australians Sevens team is due to arrive in the USA early tomorrow morning, Tuesday February 10, 2009.
